Brightmore Celebrates the Azalea Festival in Style!

Garden PartyIn celebration of Wilmington’s 69th Azalea Festival, Brightmore Independent had its very own Garden Party and Croquet Tournament on Thursday, April 7th. The morning hours worried us with thunderstorms, but Mother Nature blessed us with beautiful sunny skies and dry grass so we could continue with our Azalea Festival festivities. The guests wore their finest spring wear and beautiful garden hats. The food table was an array of spring colors and included cucumber and pimento cheese sandwiches, cookies and Mimosas, Wine Spritzers and Lemonade. We had 3 teams playing a very competitive game of croquet; full of strategy, teamwork and most importantly laughter! Croquet is very popular at Brightmore and the residents enjoy playing just as much as being in the crowd as a spectator. We look forward to continuing this tradition next year

Croquet Players included: Millie Watts, Jo Tuplin, Sylvia Weeks, Bob Weeks, Peggy Utterback, Jim Utterback
